Job Summary:
You will play an integral role in the growth and restructuring of the agency's development team. Closely work with the Development, Marketing, and Finance teams to support the logistical planning and execution of fundraising activities and events. Additionally, you will identify, cultivate, and steward existing and potential donors for our Courage Award Gala and all other fundraising activities and events throughout the year.
What You Will Do:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provide direct supervision to assigned staff to enhance their technical skill sets, leadership qualities, and administrative functions.
- Work with supervisor to establish and implement effective policies and procedures for the department.
- Provide ongoing support to staff to ensure completion of job responsibilities.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the agency's policies, applicable laws, and governmental regulatory agencies.
- Review staff responsibilities to determine the time frame and scope of authority, review staffing requirements, and allotments of available resources.
- Evaluate staff productivity and documentation of service delivery.
- Confer with staff to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities -
- Lead assigned team, driving a donor-centric culture, building relationships, and implementing a comprehensive, year-round fundraising program to accomplish goals:
- Identify corporate sponsors, individual donors, family foundations and general supporters; cultivate, recruit and steward these prospects, growing engagement and revenue across each fundraising channel
- Identify and assist in writing and submitting grant proposals to increase financial support of Foundation or identified program activities/development, including government, corporate, and family foundations
- Act as a liaison to engage Foundation board members and encourage board giving
- Foster relationships with health systems, medical community, and local community partners to garner financial and collaborative support
- Develop and implement planned giving and legacy giving programs
- Collaborate with team members to implement special events, including educational conferences, marketing events, and large-scale Gala
- Lead Marketing Team to manage and coordinate the creation of event materials for a full schedule of cultivation and stewardship events
- Manage event budgets and expense tracking and work with the Development and Finance teams to timely submit invoices for payment
- Expertise with development software and must be able to evaluate and upgrade existing technology. Currently Care Plus NJ utilizes E-Tapestry customer database software (e.g. data input, record updating, gift processing, report production)
What We Need to See:
- Bachelor's degree in event management, marketing, business, nonprofit management, or related field from an accredited college or university
- 3 - 5 years of experience in fundraising experience in the nonprofit sector (mental health experience preferred)
- Preferred - fundraising certification
- Must demonstrate progressive achievements in fundraising & development
- Experience in obtaining major grants and major gifts
- Current and valid driver's license required and must be insurable by agency's automobile insurance
