Family Support Center Coordinator

Location: 610 Valley Health Plaza, Paramus 
Onsite FT 40 hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
Salary: $50-52k

Job Summary:
You will provide administrative support to the Assistant Director, offer parent support, education, resources and advocacy in an environment that is safe and non-discriminatory, and offer compassionate support to empower parents to have a better quality of life, improve their psychological health, reduce levels of stress, feel less isolated, and gain skills needed to cope with their loved ones' OUD.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide administrative support to the Program Director of ASP.
  • Assist in quality assurance oversite and compliancy with program requirements.
  • Conduct weekly supportive and psychoeducation groups
  • Employ the CRAFT model to guide the caretakers in reducing the loved one's substance use, influence them to seek treatment, and improve the functionality of their family
  • Assist parents or caretaker of a loved one with an OUD's examining their interactions to improve their communication strategies and reduce emotional stress
  • Encourage, support, and assist family members to make positive life changes and improve their psychological functioning
  • Develops a Wellness Plan which should include self-care strategies, communication strategies, referrals to treatments, resources for other support services and provide support and monitor progress
  • Share stories of hope and recovery
  • Advocate for the inclusion of family members' health and safety
  • Report to and meet with the Associate VP of Addiction Services once a week for one-hour supervision

What We Need to See:

  • High School diploma or equivalency
  • Lived experience with a child or family member with an OUD
  • Working knowledge of OUD's and available resources
  • Bilingual Spanish, preferred
  • A valid driver's license required and must be insurable by agency's automobile insurance.
