Human Resources Assistant

Job Summary:
You will provide administrative support to HR Department in the following areas recruiting, phone screening and other HR related retention initiatives. Job functions may change according to department or agency needs.


What You Will Do:

  • Assists supervisor with the daily operation of the department and assures departmental functions are accurately performed and completed
  • Conducts Agency Orientation
  • Processes on-boarding paperwork, as assigned
  • Processes leaves of absence, maintains documentation, and prepares reports
  • Performs customer service functions and assists employees in troubleshooting and resolving their issues/concerns
  • Maintains records/reports, prepares reports on data collected, files papers/documents into appropriate files
  • Completes projects as selected or assigned
  • Clearly and verbally restate complex issues in an effective manner.
  • Assists and maintains the legal compliance of benefit plans.
  • Efficiently tracks vendor billing, including timely analysis of any changes to timing or amount.
  • Gathers employee data and oversees the processing of monthly bills/invoicing.
  • Proficient in working and managing data, as well as working within multiple vendor data portals.
  • Serves as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.


What We Need to See:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university plus 1year experience or 3 years' experience working in the an administrative and HR environment, preferred
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to internal and external changes; must be open to change (positive or negative)
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Knowledge and understanding of agency rules, federal and state laws
