Job Summary:
You will supervise staff and provide substance use disorder treatment services to chemically dependent patients by conducting intake screenings and assessments, making recommendations for further diagnostic evaluations as a leader of a multidisciplinary team. You will demonstrate as a role model for and to staff in assisting with staff's ongoing education, training, and professional development.


What You Will Do:

  • Provide direct addiction treatment services utilizing group, and individual education about the disease, relapse, and recovery processes of addiction.
  • Act as an advocate for the patient with other programs and function as a liaison with other providers.
  • Act as part of the management team that makes decisions about policies and procedures.
  • Record data used for performance improvement.
  • Design a discharge plan for continuity of treatment needs to outpatient, community, social services, and other health care agencies for continued recovery.
  • Facilitate group and family sessions.
  • Make recommendations regarding the needs of the patient from an addiction and recovery perspective based on screening, assessment, interview, history of present illness, family history, current legal problems, most conducive treatment, and discharge plan for optimum recovery outcomes.
  • Provides guidance to staff and communicate concerns to the Program Director.
  • Read collateral information for prior history and treatment of patients.
  • Monitor documentation of Counselor Interns/Credentialed Interns/Substance Abuse Workers.
  • Conduct on-going evaluation of the actual practice of services being delivered and seek to identify improvement needs by patient response and approach.
  • Maintain established contacts with DCPP, probation, parole officers, social services, welfare, housing, other health care providers, and treatment programs to support the patient's treatment needs.
  • Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.


What We Need to See:

  • Master's degree in counseling, addictions, or a counseling-related area
  • A License as a Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC)
  • Completion of required continued education coursework, annually.
  • 3-5 years experience working in the area of Substance Use Disorders.
  • A valid driver's license and must be insurable by the agency's automobile insurance
