Mental Health Recovery Specialist

Job Summary:
You will serve as a member of a multi-disciplinary outpatient program providing support services to consumers based on their goals, including case management, outreach, group facilitation and peer support. Supports clients in their path to recovery including accompanying to, supporting, and navigating services as needed.

What Will You Do:

  • Serve as the team lead on engaging consumers in recovery planning.
  • Facilitate psycho-educational groups for consumers on a variety of topics relating to wellness and recovery.
  • Provide social support opportunities through peer-led group offerings, including, but not limited to, psychoeducational social support groups, parenting groups, and support groups for youth and adults.
  • Offer on-site as well as outreach services (including transport of consumers)
  • Provide a range of comprehensive community recovery supports, including peer support, counseling services, and family support.
  • Fulfill case management services, including, but not limited to direct linkages to services, service coordination, treatment enrollment assistance, and so forth
  • Communicate observations and information about the consumer in the consumer's service record and to team members.
  • Engage in supportive counseling.
  • Provide recovery support services offered through EBPs including Illness Management & Recovery (IMR) and Wellness Recovery and Action Planning (WRAP) via face to face, telehealth, or community-based outreach as needed.
  • Assess/evaluate consumers at intake/admissions, during ongoing recovery/service delivery and at discharge.
  • Collaborate with treatment providers to establish comprehensive assessments and Recovery Plans.
  • Formulate Recovery Plans containing relevant goals, measurable objectives (that serve as indicators for evaluating progress) and realistic time frames for achievement; performs reviews of progress and evaluates effectiveness of goals/objectives.
  • Work with administrative staff to ensure that all services are documented based on billing and regulatory standards; collects information on consumers' insurance and reflects all demographic data.

What We Need to See:

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in a mental health, health or other appropriate human services related discipline from an accredited college or university plus life experience, or
  • A high school diploma or the equivalent, plus related work or life experience, or
  • Preferred prior employment working as peer support, Certified Wellness Coach and/or Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner with experience or
  • Any of the above plus must have completed or must complete the Consumer Connections Training to become Certified Recovery Support Practitioner (CRSP).
  • Must have a current and valid driver's license insurable by agency automobile insurance policy.
