Peer Recovery Specialist Passaic County - FT

Job Summary:
You will provide recovery support and peer coaching to clients. Work with clients to support and strengthen their capacity to participate in their personal recovery, link them to appropriate care, and help them achieve their wellness and recovery goals.

What You Will Do:

  • Attend mandated training to delineate peer role functions, competencies, and responsibilities
  • In collaboration with the individual, develop a Recovery Plan
  • Educate the individuals on how to navigate treatment, social service, and recovery support systems
  • Provide recovery support services based on the individual's preference and his/her assessed needs
  • Work collaboratively with the case manager to ensure the individual engages in services for up to a year
  • Reinforce, guide, and reassure the individual that recovery is possible and is built on multiple strengths, coping abilities, and the resources of each individual.


What We Need to See:

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalency, associate's degree or above preferred.
  • Must have two (2) years of experience in the guiding principles of recovery that assist individuals in improving their health and wellness
  • A valid driver's license and must be insurable by the agency's automobile insurance.
  • Travel is required between service areas; use of own vehicle is required.
