Job Summary:
You will provide services in the CRSC to adults 18+ experiencing a behavioral health crisis 24/7, 365 days a year, which may include, but be not limited to, delivering on-site holistic, comprehensive care tailored to the specific needs and developmental stages of each individual, preparing individuals for examination, and assisting in examination and treatment of individuals in crisis under the direct supervision of a physician, APN, and/or RN. Additionally, you will communicate observations and information about consumers to the treatment team and conduct thorough initial observations and assessments to identify immediate medical interventions required.
What You Will Do:
- Assist medical staff with all aspects of the examination and evaluation process in the CRSC.
- Interview patients, measure vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height, and record information in consumer record.
- Collect specimens, administer intramuscular injections, perform phlebotomy and other routine laboratory testing.
- Perform necessary clerical functions to assure physician orders are carried out, including filling out requests for lab tests and arranging for specimens to be picked up.
- Prepare consumers for all aspects of examination, evaluation, and potential interventions.
- Reconcile medication, refill medications and obtain medical records from hospitals/offices.
- Maintain inventories and order medical supplies and materials.
- Schedule appointments, answer phones and route messages to the appropriate staff.
- Perform administrative tasks and complete insurance forms as needed.
- Clean and sterilize equipment as appropriate; return equipment to proper storage areas.
- Participate in weekly supervision and team meetings.
What We Are Looking For:
- Minimum of high school diploma or GED
- Experience working in behavioral health setting
- Completed a Medical Assistant Program Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES)
- Current and valid CPR/AED (BLS) certification
- Valid driver's license required and must be insurable by agency's automobile insurance for primary drivers
