Job Description:
You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive initial and follow-up psychiatric evaluations resulting in a thorough assessment and diagnosis using DSM-5 criteria. Additionally, you will develop comprehensive interdisciplinary and multimodality treatment plans that include prescribing medications according to FDA guidelines, assist with linkage to a psychotherapist and case manager, if needed, provide psychoeducation to the client, and other general health maintenance needs.
What You Will Do:
- Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations of assigned clients, exhibits knowledge of age specific criteria, ensuring that the full range of medical and behavioral considerations are included in determining the diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
- Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests as indicated by client presentation and medications prescribed
- Function within an interdisciplinary team in the assessment/evaluation of clients, and articulates verbally and in written documentation the integration of client history and assessment information
- Work with school personnel to coordinate information, as needed
- Formulate psychosocial treatment plans, with relevant goals, behaviorally-measurable objectives that serve as an index for evaluating treatment progress, and realistic time frames for achievement
- Document assessments, treatment plans, progress reports, and discharge summaries in the clinical record, with all entries authenticated and time/dated
- Plan for, communicate, and document discharge/aftercare/transfer plans for clients completing treatment and/or accessing other services in the continuum
- Prescribe medications as indicated by signs, symptoms and diagnosis. Obtain informed consent for the same. Patient and family education is provided regarding medications.
What We Need to See:
- Must possess a medical degree from an accredited college or university
- Must have completed a residency in psychiatry
- Current and valid New Jersey medical license
- Must be Board-eligible or Board-certified in both adult/general psychiatry and child/adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. If board-eligible must obtain both board certifications within three (3) years of hire date
- Current and valid New Jersey State Controlled Substance Administration (CDS) Certification
- Current and valid Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate
- Current and valid CPR/AED (BLS) Certification
- Current and valid driver's license required and must be insurable by agency's automobile insurance
